History of the Institute
The Design and Survey Institute «Kazakh Promtransproekt» is one of the oldest and largest design and survey organizations in the field of transport construction. Numerous facilities in Kazakhstan, across all Central Asian republics, as well as in Russia and Lithuania, have been built based on the institute’s projects.
The institute has developed projects for a wide range of transport infrastructure, including external and on-site transport for industrial enterprises, main highways, railways, and urban roads. We proudly note that «Kazakh Promtransproekt» has made a significant contribution to the industrial development of the entire Central Asia region.
Thousands of kilometers of railways and highways, along with all necessary structures and facilities—bridges, overpasses, interchanges, and transport service facilities (locomotive and railcar depots, equipping facilities, garages, track maintenance, and road repair stations)—have been built according to our projects. The organization has also designed logistics centers that play a key role in optimizing the movement of goods by various modes of transport.
The institute has developed transport projects for a significant portion of Kazakhstan’s industrial enterprises, including the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant, Leninogorsk and Irtysh Polymetallic Plants, Jezkazgan Mining and Metallurgical Plant, chemical plants in Zhambyl and Shymkent, the Karaganda Coal Association, lead-zinc and titanium-magnesium plants in Ust-Kamenogorsk, among many other large and small enterprises.
The institute has also designed transport projects for other regions, including the Trans-Baikal Apatite Plant, Tugnui coal mine, Vorkashor No. 4 coal mine of the Vorkuta Coal Association, Uglegorsk plant of Sakhalin Coal, and many other enterprises in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
In recent years, the institute has actively participated in the development of Kazakhstan’s public transport network.
Projects include the construction of the Kyzylasker–Kirovskoe road with a bridge over the Syr Darya River, a road over the Bukhtarma Reservoir with a 1,320-meter bridge, and the reconstruction of sections of the Usharal-Dostyk, Taldykorgan-Kalbatau-Ust-Kamenogorsk, and other highways.
The institute has participated in the design of new railway lines: Shar–Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zhetygen–Khorgas–Kazakhstan border, and has provided technical supervision for the construction of the Khromtau–Altynsarino railway line.
